we still didn't get the SSN with EAD that was received 2 months ago. I wonder if it will come with GC now?

When the gc shows, wait 10 working days and go to SSA to apply for an SSN.

If an SSN has been allocated, SSA might tell you.

We went to SSA after we didn't get requested SSN as part of EAD. They told us they see her in the system, but couldn't apply for SSN in the office and that we just had to wait. They said it wasn't the first case and something was holding things up on immigration side of things. So maybe we get it now. I already file for tax extension bc of that.

You got lucky, while USCIS pulled some shady stuff to inflate their efficiency. Congratulations.  Start looking ahead for the next step in the process.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

And you have waited long enough.

Go to a different SSA office. And keep spiraling outward to offices until you a positive result.

Your likely penance starts January 2025 when you file I-751.

A different level of......agony.

What is the next step? Removal of conditions and then N400 in 5 years minus 9 months? Does that clock start as of the day of i485 approval, which is today for us?

yes, local office is Boston.

ROC window opens 90 days before the expiration date on your conditional GC, naturalization window opens 90 days before your 3rd. anniversary as LPR.

i didn't realize it's 3 years instead of 5 years for greencard holder who is married to US citizen! LPR starts with conditional GC, right?
