Do I need to mail it to her in Ukraine? We have two weeks or so before her return.

Mail? To Ukraine? I hope you're not considering this seriously. The chance of it getting lost is pretty high. Don't risk it.

Can you travel to Poland, bringing the GC with you? And then travel back with wife to the States. This would be expensive, but most secure way of ensuring nothing goes wrong.

your timeline says:

US Entry : 2022-06-21

Assuming

* she has the passport she used when she entered the U.S. on her immigration visa

* that passport is not expired

* the visa and passport are not damaged

she can board the flight to the U.S. provided she arrives before June 21, 2023.

She can expect to pay an I-193 fee when arrives at the U.S. port of entry.

Oh @Mike E you are so smart! 😍

Thanks for the comments. I think I will UPS it to her at a hotel near the airport. About $225.

I recommended that she staple it into her passport (like I did my COVID docs) - she declined. Is that a good or bad idea?

Staple a GC?? I would not do that

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Stampling is a very bad idea. Do not tamper with passport or Green Card in any way. They will get invalid if you staple / write on / cut / puncture / glue / laminate / burn / water damage / stain / tear them down.

$593!

You mean the I-193 fee?

It is $585 per https://www.uscis.gov/i-193 . Sometimes, IMHO, most times, it is waived.

If the courier loses the green card, you looking at:

* I-90 fee: $540

* I-131a fee: $575

Total: $1,115

On top of the $225 courier fee.

Stapling a green card (rendering it useless to a machine reader, so that is an I-90 fee) and shipping a green card card (to a war zone especially) are just bad ideas.

Have you ever been a green card holder?

Tell your wife to use her endorsed spouse visa for boarding and US entry.  There's a good chance she will not be asked about her plastic GC at all, as long as the CBP stamp on the spouse visa has not expired.  Just advise your wife not to volunteer the fact that she forgot to bring her plastic GC, unless she is asked directly by CBP.  The I-193 fee will likely be waived anyway, if it even comes up.
