OK ! I need answers for my two questions.

Background: My CR1 Interview is scheduled to take place in 7 days. I have already submitted all relevant documents to the local Consulate ( Passport copies, DS 230 Part 1 and Part 2, Birth certificate, Police clearance certificate etc) However the I-864 was submitted, by my wife in USA, to the NVC for which she paid $70 and NVC cleared the papers and sent it to the local consulate where my interview will take place.

My wife has filed tax returns for 2006 ( along with W-2, Bank letter, letter from employer) but she didn't file for 2005 because in 2005 she was out of USA and didn't get her W-2 to file the tax returns and she lost her W-4 for 2004 ( got washed away in flood). Though she has given a written explanation to the NVC why she didn't submit returns for 2004 and 2005. Now My wife has a Co-sponsor ( her grand mother) she filed returns for 2004, 2005, 2006 and the w-2 for 2006 along with bank. employment letters as well ( she makes enough and both combined income is above 125% poverty guidelines)

Question 1: Under the above circumstances could local consulate delay my matter or could deny me a visa on the basis of i-864?

Question 2: Since my wife submitted i-864 of hers and the co-sponsors to the NVC directly, do I need to carry in a copy to the local consulate when I go for my interview? ( My wife did't save a copy of the forms and the w-4 are with the local consulate )

PLEASE Advice !

Question 1: since you have a co-sponsor who has filed her returns etc etc etc, it shouldn't be a problem, me thinkssss - but you never know

Question 2: it would be wise to carry photocopies with you - any chance of getting them? If not, the consulate should have them in your file.

But don't take my word as gospel since we are doing DCF and things are quite different. I am sure more folks going through the CR route will respond.

Good luck, L.

Ok but we are meeting the poverty guide lines of 125% and we have valid papers and support...uhmmm

I am trying to get copies from my wife. But the original W-4 should be with the consulate so can't get a copy of the w-4 and the explanation letter she wrote.

What do you think now?
