There's no earthly reason why the civil surgeon should have put our I-693A in a sealed envelope and signed and stamped it, is there? We're wondering whether we should open it ourselves as we assemble our package.

Did you just turn in the I-693A as a sheet of paper or in a sealed envelope?

Sealed envelope. Since he gave me it that way, I left it that way. He did give me a copy for my own records.

Sealed envelope, proves that you did not tamper with the I-693A form after they gave it to you, this is the same reasoning that is applied to the Brown Immigrations Envelope given after a successful visa interview.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Mine was in a sealed envelope, so I sent it in that envelope... the civil surgeon told me it HAD to be sent in the sealed envelope (he did give me a copy for my own records, though), but from another similar thread a while back, it sounds like that's not necessarily the case (I think it was Rebeccajo who said theirs hadn't been in a sealed envelope)... but as that's how I was given mine, I thought I'd send it that way! :)

2005 - We met

2006 - Filed I-129F

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

2009 - Conditions lifted

2010 - Will be naturalising. Buh-bye, USCIS! smile.png

Our immigration envelope was white and said DO NOT OPEN. This is just a regular envelope.

We hadn't received a second copy and were worried that USCIS wouldn't know what to do with the sealed envelope, send us an RFE, and poor C. would have to get this third tetanus shot in six months. (He's going to be bionic if this keeps up.) But if sealed has succeeded before, we'll just send it in. Thanks!

ours was sealed and was addressed to an Oklahoma City address even though i was sending it to chicago. I left it as is and placed it into my envelope with the rest of my papers and mailed it off. I sent it off 7-11 and got the NOA yesterday.

Three in six months?! Ouch, poor boy. :(

Mine was just a plain white envelope that the CS had scrawled 'INS ONLY - DO NOT OPEN!!!!!' all over both sides of, along with lots of 'top security' pen-squiggling and scribbling. Not sure what all the scribbling was supposed to achieve, but still!

Good luck getting it all sent off! :)

Yes, like everyone else has agreed upon, there is an earthly reason, it is because it isn't supposed to be opened by you! ;) Ours was sealed as well.

Just like the medical exam in the brown sealed envelope, NO, you cannot open this one either. Reason is, you could tamper with the document and falsify it. If you wanna know what's in it, call the CS who did your I-693A and ask for a copy.

I got mine today and the CS gave it to me in a sealed envelope, along with all the copies of the immunization records I got back in my country. It was sealed with a tape with a warning in red ink that says "Do not open, otherwise you'll get RFE and will be in trouble" JUST KIDDING! But it's really sealed and there's no way that I will mess up with it even though I was as curious as a curious cat  and wanted to know what else was in there aside from the copy of I-693A that they gave me.

Mine was submitted sealed as well (CS sealed it and stamped with their information). I also wrote on the envelope what it was, my full name and A#. I got a copy of the I-693A from the civil surgeon.
