Does an I-601 affect my AOS

Hi all

I was approved in London in Jan 2007 after filing I-601 and had my K-1 visa.

Until now I am so reliefed that they saw my case not being too serius.

My question is:

Will my further applying for adjustment of status still be concidered with alot of background check?

Does this I-601 situation affect my case all the way to my GC? Or is this now an ending chapter?

Will appreciate if any should have any experience.

Should not, the I-601 is an immigrations form processed by USCIS, if they approve it, then they have no issue with what was waived.

My husband also had to file I-601 in London and was approved for a K-1 visa. We are in the middle of our AOS. He received his EAD but we are still waiting on the Green card. We filed in January of this year and our case was transferred to California. I'm assuming we are waiting on our name check like several other people.

I've been told that once your waiver is approved is should cause no problems or delays for your AOS. More than likely you will endure the same problems as everyone else.

Thank you Bailey for your response which gave me a better feeling

I was afraid that this past case would follow me all the way.

I am a June filer on my AOS and watching everybody else than me have their appointments for the AOS interview. Even we filed before them.

And our case has never been touched either.

So those concerns simply came up to me. lol

On top of everything my EAD was recently denied because of wrong code on question 16.

But since we filed the EAD to another office I guess it dosn't matter.

We are about refiling our EAD
