Age difference may be a red flag that could raise the suspicion of the consular officer. But you need to be prepared with all the evidence you can that shows your relationship is real. I am 12 years older than my husband and the age difference was never mentioned. I am sure it is because I had all other bases covered. Good luck.

I think there's a big difference between your 12 year difference and their 29 year difference.

I agree, it WILL most likely raise a red flag. So be prepared with lots of evidence to proof that you have a bona fide marriage!!!!!

The country the person is trying to immigrate from is where the problems lie. My fiance' is a beautiful 28 year young Filipina, I am a 52 yo white American. We have known each other for over 2 1/2 years and actually lived together in the Philippines for almost a year. We have pictures galore, chat sessions out the wazoo and long distance phone bills to back up a real realtionship. My attorney is still not sure that the USE in Manila will grant the K1 bcoz of the age diff. This has been very disheartning, but he did suggest that I be there for the interview, which was something I had planned on anyway. The Asian countries are the most difficult for K1/K3 visa approvals bcoz of the high fraud numbers that have been associated with these countries. Thailand, Malaysa, Philippines, India all fall mightily under this tight scrutiny, as does the Middle East and Arab nations. I wish anyone from these countries the best...everyone everywhere actually, just b prepared for the long haul and hopefully you will be surprized when things move faster than expected. If you are the USC, probably not.

If your wife is absolutely.
