Hi all,

I’m just curious about why the dates of receiving NO2 jump around so much. I feel like they should be processed in the order that they were received. I understand that it’s different in the case of RFEs, but I’m seeing some applications processed with a NOA 1 of 2/14/22, then another days later of 11/30/22 (no RFE for either). Is there a method to this madness?

I have no inside information on this...but my best guess is that it is entirely dependent on the speed of the person processing the case & the complexity of the cases that are ahead of yours. I am guessing that each processor is given a set of cases to work on (let's just say 100 cases per processor)...and they only get an additional set of cases to work on after they have completed the cases they currently have. With this kind of set up, this would explain why some cases move faster than others & seem to be going out of order. With so many new processors recently hired, it is likely that some processors simply work faster than others. Add in the fact that some cases are simply more complex than others & you can see how some cases may get stuck in a stack longer than others.

Also they seem to be 'graded' on how fast they process 80% and sometimes median (50%) so they seem to care less about the last 20%.

Agree with the comment above, it does seem everyone is given a stack and then a new stack so just depends how fast one officer goes compared to another. They also had a MASS hiring so they have a lot of new staff that may be variable or going slower as they're new to it but they also have a bunch of experienced staff.

I hadn't found VJ yet when we applied, but this makes me feel better about not sending a huge log of conversation.

I mean imagine you were the person processing, do you have good thoughts towards someone sending in a book worth of whatsapp messages when you're assigned like 40mins for an entire application 😂
