Police checks

Hi all, asking this after receiving the NOA2

For foreign police checks, is the requirement that you lived in that country 6 months or 12 months?

I spent some time in Australia but it wasn’t a full 12 months. Will the required police checks I need be listed in the letter I receive from the embassy?

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks,

Marc

Okay great!

Could you clarify if the police checks needed will be listed on the letter I receive?

If so, I’ll wait to receive it before applying for them

thanks,

Marc

Yeah, they should.

But you can apply for them now, as they are valid for 12 months if from your own country and have no expiration date if they are from a country you resided in.

No.

The PCC'd that will be required will be based on the address history on the DS-160. The embassy will have no idea what PCC's you will need beforehand.

Ah! He meant a list of HIS specific ones? Didn't read it like that.

So, I want to change my answer: now it is NO. 🤣

Okay thanks for that!

Are scanned copies acceptable or do they have to be the true original?

Many thanks

This might differ by country, but assume originals. In Japan I received it in a sealed envelope that I was not allowed to open, so copies were not feasible anyway. From Sweden it was just a printout from the registry with an official stamp and signature.
