Hello Robert. Just a though on this. Not sure how your fee payment is being made and if its through US system or overseas system but your credit card may be being denied by your creditor especially if it's an overseas transaction. They may think its a fraudulent transaction and are trying to protect you. When I travel overseas i have to let my banks/creditors know so that my credit/debit cards work.

We were notified last week that our visa was at embassy. But fiancé can’t fill out his ds160 with only our case number. It’s also asking for an invoice number which neither one of us has, does anyone know how to get the invoice number so he can proceed with the form and be contacted by the embassy?

No need to create a CEAC account to fill the DS-160. So you do not need an invoice number to do so. The form will also ask your receipt number (WAC) but you can also add your NVC number if you wish.

Try seeing with your bank like @Shane-Debby said, but another option would be maybe transferring money to your fiancé so she pays with an Argentinian card if possible. Usually international cards are accepted on AIS though.

@Shane-Debby @Bh_sarah I have capital one venture, so I never need to call when I am going overseas.  I will try again, but I think it may be better to do the cash payment since it is about $100 cheaper.

$100 cheaper? heck yeah! cash it is...lol

Wow, I can’t pay in cash in Brazil and it’s certainly not cheaper (I thought it was $265 for all K1 cases all over). Is this really possible for Argentina? EDIT: I see it’s actually possible for Argentina, wow!

But even if it was possible, no way I’d carry $265 (around R$1,200) in cash with me around Rio haha

So here is why it is about $90-100 cheaper.  It is because the official exchange rate of the Argentine Peso is 270 pesos for $1 USD.  The Blue Dollar rate which is the rate everyone uses is 525 per $1 USD.  So I just sent her $150 with a $25 service fee via Western Union and she will be able to get out 80,000 pesos.

@Bh_sarah I had forgotten that you were in Rio de Janeiro.  I was there in March and in Sao Paulo for the 2nd time and really enjoyed it.  I went up to the Pao de Azucar at sunset which had a really nice view.

Oh I see. I didn't consider it was because of the Argentinian exchange rate, I was only thinking about dollars. That is good then! I have no choice to pay in cash here.

And glad you enjoyed! I am not thrilled about going to Rio for the medical and interview, but I think Brazilians are more scared of Rio than foreigners hahaha Pão de Açúcar during sunset does seem amazing!

We got our case number but when I type it in it say's: Invalid Application ID or Case Number
I did put the correct category, NONIMMIGRANT VISA, and also correct location.

Any advice other than sending another email to the NVC? I also tried changing the last number a couple of times but no luck.

EDIT: My bad, actually, when I did put IMMIGRANT VISA it said: AT NVC

Looks like all good for now.

@Bh_sarah Boa tarde

My fiance was able to pay last night, so it might take 2-3 days for me to be able to schedule the interview.

And as for safety in Rio, there is definitely a feeling that one needs to take precaution.  I have felt the the same in Mexico City and Beirut, Lebanon as well.  I think Beirut may be safer but Brasil, Mexico, and the US seem pretty comparable in terms of safety.

Hello to all the wonderful people on this thread!

Than you for keeping me somewhat sane during this immigration process.

I have a question, My case is 'At NVC' (finally) does anyone know how long its currently taking to show as 'Ready'.

I am assuming and praying the case will be shipped next week according to the VJ shipping date calendar.

Thank you all and God bless your journeys !

Hey guys! Just wanted to share some insights on our end. Our NOA2 was April 6, 2023. We dont have an excat date as to when the Embassy recieved our case from NVC but I would assume it was around June 15-20, 2023 as thats when, via inquiry, we were provided our case number. July 6, 2023- our case was marked "ready" for interview.

Our interview date is August 24, 2023 ( praying really hard 🙏 for a positive outcome)

My Fiancé is an Indian national but has been residing and working in Dubai, UAE for the past 4.5 years hence we got our interview scheduled at Abu Dhabi . Had it been in India, it would have been a mess because the backlogs are excessive there. So excessive that a couple that got married in December 2019, spouse came back to the States and filed for their Spouse in February 2020, still has no insight on when their interview can be scheduled in India.

Your case may update to "in transit" starting next Tuesday or Wednesday (shipping week, see calendar on the first post of this thread).
The "in transit" to "ready" should be just a few days, but depends on the embassy.
