Should have done as part of N-400 filing. You can try, it won't hurt.

Hi Everyone,

This site has helped my husband and I tremendously. Now we're here. 😊

Dropped off package 4/7

Delivered via USPS 4/10

CC charged 4/13

I did check his USCIS account and it is showing package received 4/10 w/ a receipt number starting with IOE. That a receipt notice or acceptance notice was sent and will describe how they'll process our case.

So now we wait...🙏🏾

Just received notification that an action was taken on hubby's case. His I-751 was approved. Now we just wait for his N-400 interview.

Oh wow, that's amazing. Congrats! Mine is still pending. I applied for my N-400 on March 4th, 2024. That case is also still pending.

Hi all,

Our case was just recently updated to say "Interview Was Scheduled".  We did an 90-day early N400 submission and that seemed to make a difference.  Both the N400 and I-751 now have they same interview status.  As others on this board have stated, I also believe submitting the N400 application helps speed up the process a bit.  Highly suggest you do it to get out of this I-751 nightmare of a wait.

My husband received an interview date (August 19, 2024) for his N-400 Application for Naturalization. But I-751 is still pending (no update since April 22, 2023--still "actively reviewing"...you're not fooling anyone, USCIS 🤣).

I-751 Removal of Conditions Timeline:

April 15, 2023 Mailed via USPS

April 17, 2023 Delivered by USPS

April 20, 2023 Received text message with case number (IOE)

April 22, 2023 Case status updated to "My Case is Being Actively Reviewed by USCIS"

April 27, 2023 Received two letters 1) Notice to set up online account 2) Notice that Biometrics will be reused

May 1, 2023 Received 48-month extension letter

August 20, 2024 Approved

N-400 Application for Naturalization Timeline:

May 5, 2024 Filed Application Online

July 12, 2024 Interview Scheduled

August 19, 2024 Interview Completed

August 19, 2024 Placed in line for oath ceremony

October 4, 2024 Oath Ceremony

I just saw an update to both the lifting of conditions and naturalization applications but these weeks we are traveling around a bit. How quickly are interviews for the I-751 and N-400 scheduled to the date of the interview notice letter?

The original Greencard interview was scheduled within a week and a few days of the letter's date!

Based on what I've been seeing and my own personal experience, probably 3-4 weeks out from when you receive the notice.

You can expect the same for I-751 / N-400

Hi everyone! I see that some of you have had really positive experiences applying for naturalization or at least things seem to be moving forward down that route.

Does anyone know what happens if you are travelling at some point between the naturalization interview and the oath?

I have an international trip planned in December and in general I've been using my ROC extension letter + my expired green card. But idk if anything changes once you apply for a different process and especially after you pass the naturalization interview.

Just trying to plan ahead given that I can't count with accurate timelines with USCIS and I can't be waiting forever haha. I may try calling USCIS to see if they have this info, but maybe someone here happens to know the answer. Thanks in advance!

You can continue travelling with GC and extension letter. As long as your physical presense doesn't get affected of course. You will get asked about trips between interview and oath before your ceremony begins.

My wife and I are in the exact same position.  We have international travel planned and booked well before we got the letter for Naturalization.  Our trip is at risk since my wife's green card will become void after the Oath Ceremony.  At that point, she WILL need a US Passport to get back into the country.  Since it will most likely be cutting it close for us, I plan on setting up an appointment at the Passport Agency (in my case, Philadelphia) to help speed things up rather than relying on the mail system.  Also, I am not a big fan of her mailing out the "original" Naturalization certificate with the application.  So, we plan on going their in-person to avoid mailing out sensitive documents.

At least that is our plan......

Travel between interview and oath is different to travel after oath and before getting US passport.
