I went on the FB group for Jbrg and there we have more credible info: One person had PD october 13 2023, DQ Feb 7 2024, IV Aug 15.
So 6.5 months for EB1a.
I feel the person who told me a longer period mixed his DQ and his PD.

kindly ask how did you find the group? I am so struggling to find any Malaysia EB category information.

I joined groups with the region name and US in that, then i left the ones that were dead/inactive. And most in that group are not EB category, so I had to go through posts.

EB1a: Approved 2024-09, Texas

Pending consular processing

Hi all,

After a month in AP my visa has been issued.

I just want to say this forum is amazingly useful to follow up the entire visa process, I am sure we can all agree that it can be brutally excrutiating.

Thanks all for the advice, wise words, tips, and best of luck on this process.

Congratulations!!! Can I ask, were you in London Embassy? Was your case put in AP after being told you were approved? Did you follow up on it at all and if so how? Many thanks. I am in a similar situation, my case was approved by the CO and now is in AP, no forms were given to me. Thanks

After arriving in the U.S. how long does it take to receive the 'Green Card'? If I plan to visit initially only for 2 weeks will I receive the green card by that time? If not received within those 2 weeks, during re-entry will I face any problem or the visa stamp in the passport will be enough to travel back to the U.S.? Kindly reply thank you

Up to 90 days, highly unlikely to receive it in 2 weeks. 4-6 weeks seems to be about the norm.

No issue re entering though, your I-551 acts as a temporary green card for a year so works just the same as the plastic one would do.

Hi everyone,

A candid question from my side and hopefully sharing with everybody and hopefully get some advice.

Several days ago a guy on Facebook approached me said he offered guaranteed expedite services. He helps drafting expedite letters, prepare documents and so on. he did send a lot of previous expedite approved screenshots that he worked for previous clients. He asked me to initially pay him a bit(not much, like 100 usd) and sent me the draft. I thought the draft is not worth that, and doubt whether this can get approved, and what he said about his previous work. And then he offered another option, saying he has a friend working in local consulate who can help auto-expediting. He even said he had multiple friends who worked in consulates like Islamabad, Manila, Canada, and so on. But it costs 1200 usd to do this.

I realized that this could be a scam, since it's way too ridiculous to believe all these. I banned his FB account and the paypal account. So I just want to share this with all of you guys who might get in these similar "scam" as it's tricky.

Also I also want to get feedback/advice from you guys: he might know a bit about my case details (say case ID, day of birth etc.) but don't know about names. Because he might get pissed on you, is there any potential risks/negative impacts that he can do on me/my case? Thinking about his story that his friend working in the consulate, he said he can even manipulate to change personal information

I don't know how he'd have your case info/DOB unless you gave them to him. Personally I'd report him as well, to USCIS/NVC. As you say, he's scamming people.

Thanks. I will do. So do you think technically he can misuse my information to do something negative?

What information do you think he has? He shouldn't have anything other than your name?

Mistakenly gave him the case number. But gave him the wrong name

Oh blimey. Too late now, but don't ever give anybody your case number unless they're a licensed immigration professional you have a signed contract with!

Thanks! Let's forget about this, I have reported him.

Meanwhile, I just got an IL today in Kuala Lumpur Embassy. I guess it's a good start. But I do want to seek advice from you other friends who have gone through interview: Is is possible to have separate interviews for principle applicant and additional/derivative applicant? Because the derivative applicant has quite important schedule and not possible to come to interview at that period of time. If possible, then how's the process? Need to send request to local embassy to ask for their arrangement for derivative applicant? How close in terms of the date normally will they arrange? And what's the timing for us to contact to arrange a separate interview for derivative applicant (like after the principle applicant's interview or before the principle applicant's interview is ok)

Thanks for any advice, really appreciate it!

The CO was very nice and said since my visa category was EB2-NIW, which is needed for USA, he will prioritize my application so I hope I will get my passport stamped with the visa within 2 weeks.

Today got email that I should mail passport so it was really quick like 2 weeks. Just administrative process. Like I said, the CO was very nice and told me it should not take that long.
