Big shout out to @appleblossom without whom I might not have realised that the Paris Embassy was slow (and who is moderating this forum like a pro).
Good luck to everyone waiting!!

That’s very kind but I’m not a mod! Just somebody who went through it myself last year.

Congrats on the interview letter and a speedy process, and thank you for completing your timeline on the forum to help others too. Just to confirm you are resident in the UK, not France? It can cause delays if you interview in London when you aren’t UK resident so just checking!

Yes, I'm a UK resident, well a tax resident. Technically, I'm not a resident anywhere as I've been a digital nomad for a bit more than a year but before that I was 10 years in the UK and I'm only paying taxes in the UK. It would have been better for me to do the final stages in Paris but I've had more ties in the UK in the past few years so I hope that should be ok.

Hi Everyone, I am DQ for EB1A as of January 2025.   Does anyone know how long it takes to get interview letter for Tashkent embassy?

Also I have a valid H1B visa as well, however I haven't used it yet. Does it make sense to wait it out and get an IL from Tashkent or travel to US on H1B and file for AOS

Obviously I don't like being on H1B with all it's restrictions, but might consider this option if it's safer.

Am looking for estimated wait times at Mumbai to receive IL for EB category. Anyone having recent experience would you please share your inputs/timelines?

Depends on case type and priority date. Please fill in your timeline so we have that info, also when you were DQ’ed?

@appleblossom I just had my I-140 approved last week under EB-1C category. I am evaluating Consular Processing vs AOS and hence wanted to check on interview wait times. PD is July-2017 so is current now. If you have any info regarding wait times at Mumbai consulate request you to please share.

Where are you now, in the US?

No I am in Canada but have the option to enter enter US on H1-B, but have a child who is attending college in Canada and would prefer not to disturb his studies and hence preferring Consular Processing if the wait times are not insane.

You can’t enter Canada on a non-immigrant visa if you intend to stay, that’s immigration fraud. So consular processing is your only option, if you’re in Canada then Montreal makes far more sense as Mumbai isn’t quick either.

Good luck.

H1-B is a dual intent visa. Do you have any estimates of wait times at Montreal and Mumbai?

Both about a year. I didn’t mention the H1B - are you dual national, Canada and India?

Please do fill in your timeline, thx.

Mumbai is slightly less time, around 8 months(AFAIK).

Montreal : https://ca.usembassy.gov/immigrant-visa-process/

As of January 14, 2025, most Immediate Relative and fiancé(e) visa cases being scheduled for interview in Montreal were documentarily complete at the National Visa Center in September 2024; most Family Preference cases with visa numbers available that are being scheduled for interview were documentarily qualified in October 2024; and most Employment cases scheduled for interview were documentarily complete in January 2024.

I think it’s still a bit longer - this is the most recent Mumbai case I can find, with an interview in December 2024. https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=438645

And that was a spouse, EB cases usually take longer. Montreal has sped up considerably over the past year and will hopefully continue to do so, if I were @A.K.D. I'd stick with there personally, as it’s likely to be much more hassle to transfer to Mumbai and I’m not sure if it will be any quicker anyway.
