It's nothing to do with him now unfortunately. It could only take a couple of weeks (depending on the reason for AP), but it could also be quite a bit longer. There's a long running thread about the DS-5535 in Montreal which may be worth a read -

It's usually due to an occupation on the TAL list, or link with a high risk country (Middle East, Pakistan, etc).

I think it could be administrative process they do for most application since there is a big gap between the time of application and visa interview. Mine got approved really fast so its nothing to worry about for EB1 and EB2-NIW.

I’m not really sure what you mean. ‘Normal’ AP is usually only a few hours, a day max. Longer than that and it means they’re checking something out.

The visa category has nothing to do with it either way.

Hi all, my Civil Documents was delivered to NVC yesterday, is there any email to confirm receipt? Thanks

No, you'll just have your tracking to show they were delivered, you don't get anything from NVC other than a RFE or DQ email.

Good luck.

Congrats! Paris seems to be super slow for some reason at the moment, I hope it speeds up a bit for you.

Good luck.
