Oh got it. I imagine it's because of the October 1st thing. They announced the limit had been reached before the interviews on September 6th.

Yes i have the info about this but there was no information they gave during interview. So basically its on hold till October 1st

Yes, they cannot issue a visa until then as the quota has been reached for this year. Hopefully you'll get your passport back in the first week in October.

Good luck.

Got it. They told me I didn't need to leave my passport. Not sure why.

Hi, did you travel to UK for the interview or are you a citizen/pr/working there? At times they ask those who travelled to mail in the passport.  Whats the update on your situation?

Hi!

I have a question in case someone have been in my same situation and is able to help.

My interview schedule was taking forever (pass 8 months in Madrid, EB2-NIW, current) so I submitted a request to expedite to NVC and was granted for the embassy. I emailed the embassy later to ask If the could let me know how long more or less would it take to received the interview letter. Today I received answer to the email saying that my appointment has been schedule for October 8th and information about where to register the interview and schedule medical but I have not received a document or "interview letter" as such. I understand that since case was expedite is the embassy, not NVC who schedule the interview, but any of you know if in this case of situation should I also received some kind of letter (I mean like pdf or something like that)? or can I move ahead and register and schedule medical just with the info in the email?

Thank you very much in advance!

Hi, may I ask how did you get NVC to expedite your case?  Is there anything specific that you mentioned in your request or are there particular circumstances that you need to have to be expedited?  Thank you.

There are specific grounds for an expedite - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/national-visa-center/immigrant-visas-processing-general-faqs.html#ivp7

HTH.

It is really frustrating. They did not tell this during interview and kept our passport and status is showing "Ready". Can i send email and ask the status?

I don't see what the point of sending an email would be tbh. The visa quota being met isn't anything to do with the consulate, it's NVC and was announced on their website and media.  https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/News/visas-news/annual-limit-reahed-in-the-eb-1-category.html

But if your status doesn't change by mid October, then I'd be chasing it up.

Hi all,

Below is my basic info:

Consulate: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Category: EB1A

DQ Date: June 2024

I transferred my case from Islamabad to Kumla Lumpur on 6 Sep 2024, still not getting my IL yet. Wondering any people who have experience in Kuala Lumpur Consulate can share your experience or tell me how long do I still need to wait for the IL?

It's very early days if you only transferred on 6th Sept, particularly as transfers tend to take longer to get IL's. What does your online status say?
