Only EB1/EB2 update on NVC (DQ, IL)

Hi everyone.

 

We had our interview last week so I thought I would put a little update on as I franticly searched for something similar before ours. 

We arrived at the consulate (Doha) about 45 mins early but sat in the car until 30 mins before. Went through a few different rooms with various security before reaching the final room that looked like a doctors waiting room with 4 windows/desks. We had taken a number from the first pre check room and she had given us a list of original docs we should have with us. Called to the first desk about 30 mins after and asked for original docs, he seemed to just process those on the computer and stapled a few things together before asking us for our fingerprints. Told to take a seat again and that we would be called again shortly. We then waited around an hour before we were called to a desk (you can hear everything in the room too) by this time I was feeling the stress and wanted it over and done with. This time it was a different man who seemed happy and had a friendly face, he asked my husband how long he had been in his profession? Where in the US we planned to go? If he had a job offer? to which my husband replied no, we don't need one with EB2. Happy with everything we said he then just gathered the big pile of paperwork infant of him and said "looks like your all set" 

He then said the visa in the passport could take up to 2 weeks 😱 my husband needs his passport for work so he explained that and the guy kindly said come back tomorrow at 2pm and we will try and get them done for you.

The next day we all went again around 1.30pm worried that we wouldn't even get through the door without an appointment but we did. The lady on the desk in the first room said only my husband needed to go any further, myself and my daughter just sat there and waited. Around 30 mins later my husband appeared with 3 passports with visas and 3 brown envelopes 💗 fair to say this was a huge relief.

 

We are flying to New York next weekend to enter. Its been a rollercoaster ride and we are glad its all done.

Congrats. best wishes ahead. I am still waiting for my PD to be current. Many of us who were DQed during similar time period are now in the process of moving to the US. 🤩🥳🤩

Hi all, I'm super confused. I got an email from NVC saying they've received my documents but I haven't submitted a DS260?

I'm quite sure I paid and submitted my DS-260. I have a confirmation page, and when I log onto the portal it says "PAID" and "COMPLETED" ... is it supposed to say something else like "SUBMITTED" ? Very confused. Hope this doesn't delay my IL 😢

Ive seen more people having the same issue. Send an inquiry with the ds260 confirmation page to show u have submitted the form. Question: Have u received the DQ already?

I haven't. Docs were submitted end of August, so was waiting on DQ. This is the first correspondence I've had since docs were submitted.

Weird. Mine just said 'completed' too, it sounds like they think you've got a spouse or children. As above, I'd submit your confirmation page and then reiterate that it's just you with no dependents.

I will message them. The Public Inquiry Form is best for that right? https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html

 

I'm confused because it asks for both petitioner and principal applicant, and I think I'm both on EB1?

Yes, you can be both. 

 

I'd message them but it will take them a while to get back to you, so if you can then I'd also submit the DS-260 confirmation page, and a covering letter re-confirming you are the only applicant and don't have any dependents. You might find that gets you DQ'ed earlier than waiting for them to get back to you via the enquiry service.

well I got a reply and all it said was “we have received mail for this case” - didn’t actually refer to my question which about the supposedly missing DS260 🤦🏼‍♀️

 

I don’t know if this means I’m DQd or what lol - very confusing. But I assume the DS260 is fine.

That's just the auto response, there's currently a 6 day wait for a response to enquiries, so hopefully they'll get back to you soon - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html

This means they have received your documents and is queue for the review. Hope you will be DQed soon. Because I used to receive same email after my enquiry. But if they havenot received your documents, you would have received other email. Infact this is a good news that they have successfully received your documents. Wait for at least 2 weeks and again send them public inquiry if you do not hear from them.

Hope so - it was confusing coz they sent me an email saying I hadn’t submitted a DS260 form when I had. I assume it’s just an error on their end. Sigh. Can’t wait for this to all be over!
