Made a monumental error--How to fix, if I can?

Good evening everyone. Just some quick background. My husband has severe childhood trauma. I've dealt with it since we have been together. We got married in July in Denmark. Lived together in his country for 1+ years. We direct consular filed. He received his visa after maybe 1-2 months. We had a huge fight and things reached a level I thought would require divorce. I was also leaving the country as I had to start work. Before I did, I went to the embassy and told them that we were getting a divorce as I thought it would mean his visa wouldn't be sponsored anymore. I thought we were headed towards divorce. 2 weeks later and he has apologised profusely, gave a sincere plan for getting better and has started seeing a trauma therapist. The problem now is that we are deciding to work on our marriage. So I made an error in revoking his visa. He went to the embasssy becafuse they called him and told him that I went there to tell of the divorce but he let them know I was having second thoughts so they sent him home without revoking it. However, I am afraid that I may have undone this process. Is there anything I can do to let them know I want to consider sponsoring it, or do we have to start over again. Please refrain from telling me I am stupid, our incident was very toxic and I thought it was what I had to do. Thank you!

Generally speaking what is done is done.

 

The only way of knowing for certain is to contact the Consulate, see what they did.

 

On the assumption you need to file again then you can do so on line.

 

Ohh I have not seen this with DCF but have with regular filing.

So besides being a toxic couple, what's the actual issue? 

He has the visa, it was not revoked ergo he can travel.

Yeah with DCF you have to give your documents in to the consulate of the city you are living in. I will call them tomorrow, I'm just afraid I made a major decision not really knowing the ramifications/permanence of it. Hopefully they will listen to me but yeah I'm afraid we will have to go the long way now.

Well I went to the consulate and told them we were headed towards divorce which caused them to contact him to say they will need him to bring in his passport. They didn't revoke it when he went, I guess now we are waiting to hear back from them regarding a decision.

I acrtually left the country 1 week after this happened to start my new job back in the US. I will see if I can call them tomorrow. I sent emails but they remain unanswered.

It still says ready, however the last update is listed as the day after I went there to say I revoke it. Going to do some calling and see what happens though I'm not feeling good about it.

If they did not revoke it after speaking to your spouse, then there was nothing to update.  They would not need to update the status to Ready from Ready.

 

When is the interview scheduled?

He has the visa already. He already had the interview. His CR-1 was granted. I'm confused now as well because if after I went in there they allowed him to leave with it still, does that mean it's still valid? If it was cancelled would it be updated to cancelled? I will definitely wait to make big decisions like this in the future, I've learned my lesson.

If they stated that they did not revoke it...what is the real issue?  That you don't trust what your spouse said or you don't trust what the embassy said?

 

All the risk is on your husband.  If he lied to you, then he will be turned around at CBP when he tries to travel to the US.  If he is fine with the visa and what the consulate told him, then the next logical step is for him to fly to the US.

 

If he needs you to do something, like write an affidavit, then he needs to let you know.

I think the issue is that the woman informed ME that I cannot undo the step of revoking it. She then told me that she will call him in to put the stamp in his passport. SO when he was called to go he told them that I had changed my miind and they told him they would see what they can do and get back to him. So I'm wondering if they made the change in the system cancelling it, even though the visa in his passport is still there. So we are trying to avoid him flying here with it turning out that his visa is cancelled internally. They won't answer the emails though!

If they revoked it they would've emailed him to say don't travel as we've revoked it. If he never actually went in with his passport then they wouldn't be able to physically cancel the visa but they could still do it in their systems. So, did your husband actually go in person and give them his passport or not? If not, just call/email the consular and say you changed your mind you're proceeding (especially if you never signed a paper saying you're revoking your petition).
