new here.... K1 applying for CA driver's license

Hi Guys!!!

I just joined here and I find this site very helpful....I've learned a lot....I hope thatm I'll be able to meet new friends here as well....I'm from the Philippines and I just got here last June 15,2007.

I was able to get my SS number last July 20,2007. I'm want to apply for a driver's license, am I qualified? What docs do I need? Also, can I work just with my SS number?

My timeline is:

July 12- filed AOS and EAD

July 20- got my SS number

Check California's department of motor vehicles site to see what their requirements are.

NO you cannot work without receiving your EAD - that's why you applied for it.

You should post in the K1 forum - not the K3 forum

Welcome to VJ. I beleive in California you are reguired to take a Drivers Education Course if you are under 18 before taking your written and driving test. Otherwise you can study and take the test. Here is a link to how to apply for a license:
