If visa was 'approved' at interview and i'm still waiting for it (+10 business days) is it possible it's under additional administrative processing without being told?

That may be the reason for the extra delay.   The embassy may be waiting for background checks from the DOJ (Department of Justice).

Also, how common is your name?  I've seen other cases where people have a similar name to another person who actually has a criminal background and they had to go through additional checks just to verify that person was not the accused criminal.

Those specific countries should not trigger more scrutiny, but they could be looking into it.

Other things that could cause delay are a common name, previous visa applications, overstays, etc.

Maybe it is just a normal delay.

Today it moved from Refused to AP

Sometimes that status lasts a few hours. Must be some extra background check based on your previous visas.

Now it seems they are playing with your feelings. 😜

Right! Haha.

I’ve found someone here in the past post that it’s generally a “parking spot” to come back to later… let’s hope that’s the case lol.

Perfectly normal. Nobody is being approved at the interview, you're only approved once the status says "issued". All of us go through some form of AP afterwards, for me it was almost 2 weeks but that was to wait for the medical results. My status changed from Ready to AP back to Ready and finally to Issued. The changes are good, means they're working on/looking at your case.

The reason for the delay could be anything really. Could also be that something has happened at the embassy, maybe one employee got sick and they're now out one person and therefore a bit behind etc.
