Is really necessary for my co-sponsers? What if they can't provide a good copy of their birth certifcate?

Then they need to get a better copy from the records office of their birth state.  Or provide a copy of the bio page of their unexpired US passport instead.  Other options: passport card, CRBA, certificate of citizenship, certificate of naturalization.

Next question. My co-sponsors are both retired. Their income comes solely from pensions and social security checks. In Part 6, it asks for their "current income". What should I put here if they are no longer working?

Are you sure they're eligible to sponsor?

It may be higher, but does it meet the requirements for the household size?

If my co-sponers count their pensions\SS benefits with my income, it's more than enough.

I currently make enough to not have to have co-sponers, but my employement history for the past 3 years has not been so great. So, I wanted to include co-sponsors for good measure.

That's not how it works. Your and their income should not be combined in calculations. Each sponsor's income should meet the requirements without combining it.

If you qualify on your own, don't unnecessarily contractually obligate others.

Let's clear up some terminology.  There are no "co-sponsors".  There are joint sponsors and their are household members.  Just because your "relatives" live in the same house does not mean they qualify as household members, and the need not count in YOUR household anyway.  What's the relationship to you?

If you qualify and they also qualify, you don't combine income.  Let's clear this up before going forward.

Thank you for your feedback. The joint sponsors would be my parents.

I was unemployed for 2020-2021, and started working again in 2022. I'm thinking they may look at this and hold it against me. This is my reasoning for having joint sponsors.

If your current income (gross pay for a pay period times the number of pay periods in a full year) is clearly sufficient, I would leave your parents out of it completely, as you qualify as sponsor on your own.  Become an A-Student of the I-864 instructions and the form itself, and you'll see I'm right.

Someone was telling me I needed to meet 125% HHS poverty guidelines for the past three previous years. Any truth to that?

Only if your spouse is coming from India.  It is not an actual requirement, but Mubai likes to see that.

Okay, two more questions. The I-864 instructions state the following:

Quote

If you provide a photocopy of your Federal individual income tax returns, you must include a copy of each and every Form W-2 and Form 1099 that relates to your returns. Do not include copies of these forms if you provide an IRS transcript of your Federal individual income tax returns rather than a photocopy unless you filed a joint income tax return with your spouse and are qualifying using only your income.

To clarify this point, if I provide a return transcript from the IRS then I don't need to include any W-2 and 1099 forms, correct?

Second question: I'm sending the I-765, Application for Employment Authorization with my I-485, AOS. Both forms ask if the applicant wants a social security card issued, which they do. Would I answer "yes" on both forms or only the I-485?
