this is my first of what will probably be many posts in this section...

i moved to the US from Canada on a K1 the beginning of this month, and my honey and i got married on july 14. we decided to wait with starting our adjustment of status for a couple reasons, the largest being the new fee schedule that comes into effect on the 30th.

i've briefly read through the guide here on the site, and plan to read more in depth and start filling out forms in the next few days. however, with the new schedule - and how they've lumped together the AOS, AP and EAD instead of filing them all separately - are there any changes in actually filing the documents, or can i still follow the guide? i have not checked the USCIS site yet, but i guess it stands to reason that there might also be new forms; does anyone know if this is the case?

since i am just starting out on this leg of my journey, if anyone can offer any suggestions, recommendations or tips on how to proceed, it would be greatly appreciated. :)

thx!!

As far as I know, the AOS, AP & EAD, will be filed together. If you want to file just the AOS, I suggest you file before July 30.

You still have to file the same forms, but the payment is no longer needed for the AP and EAD.

Not anything I would recommend, the cost of AP and EAD are going significantly, if you are filing for all three I would recommend someone to wait, spend the additional $265.00 and never have to pay for any interim benefits if they are needed.

After. AOS fees (post 7/30) will now include the fees for interim benefits.

YMMV

i plan on filing for all three, the AOS, AP and EAD - hence the reason for waiting. i didn't want to get caught in their transition and find out that because of a delay, etc, at their end i would end up having to pay the higher fees for the AP and EAD instead of the one fee for all three.

guess i'll wait and see if there are any revised forms for the above next week (don't want to fill out and print off the wrong ones, just in case).

thanks!
