I-90 Renewal. Card is being produced. Then nothing.

Hi,

I am wondering if anyone has any ideas about this situation.

My 10 year green card renewal was finally approved after 18 months.  Case status was updated on March 7th 2023 to say it was approved and card is being produced.  However, since then I have had no further updates.  Nothing at all to say the card has been produced or mailed.

I am becoming a little concerned, as my understanding is that once the case status changes to card is being produced, then it should only be a few days before mailing confirmation and the card being sent.

Should I submit an inquiry at this time or wait a while longer? If I do submit one, then should I do it under card not received?  I see it says that this is for a card that was mailed, but in my case I have not received any update to say it has actually been sent.  Becoming a little anxious and getting the feeling it could be lost somewhere.

Any thoughts?  Am I being unduly concerned?

Thanks,

Taylor

Production can be a black hole  … no agent will be able to tell you more .. hopefully it will be printed sooner rather than later

Make sure your mailbox is well labeled, say hi to your USPS delivery guy/gal.  If you live in a building with multiple boxes, you can follow these tips, add your name to your box.  Hope it will arrive soon!

Lots of people have been complaining about long times between approval, card production and card delivery lately! Hopefully your card gets sent soon but there's isn't much you can do now

Agreed, I see a lot of cases in Approved state in Case Tracker without progressing to Card Produced status. Some of them are stuck for several weeks. I wonder what's behind this slowdown and whether it slows down I-751s 😃

That's a relief!  Congratulations in advance.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

  • 1 year later...

I created this profile just to update you guys with my situation.
I applied for new GC because my previous was 'lost or stolen' as they are categorizing my case. It was actually delivered on the wrong address and I never could find it.

There is hope that they are speeding up, despite the general thinking.

I wish you all very good luck in dealing with USCIS!!

Stay secure and positive!

Anyways, the timeline goes like this:

Card Was Delivered To Me By The Post Office June 10, 2024
We produced your new card for your Form I-90, Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card. June 10, 2024
We are producing your new card for your Form I-90, Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card. June 6, 2024
We are actively reviewing your Form I-90, Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card. Our records showed nothing is outstanding at this time. June 5, 2024
We scheduled you for a biometrics appointment May 18, 2024

We received your Form I-90, Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card, and sent you a receipt notice.
