Question on Importing a Hyundai Tucson from Canada to USA

Hi all,

 

I am looking to import a 2009 Hyundai Tucson from Canada to the USA. I have my Hyundai compliance letter and it states that it meets the U.S. EPA standards and all FMVSS requirements except for:

 

FMVSS 202a: Head restraints -- which mostly equates to having a head rest that comes up high enough to protect against whiplash etc. from being rear-ended.

 

Has anyone else in the forum who has gone through the vehicle import process, dealt with this before and if yes, how did you handle it?
