I-751 Interview Letter: Employment Verification?

 Share

Hi,

I got interview letter for my I-751.

Under documents to bring with you box: It says: Employment Verification

what does that mean? What should I take with me on my interview which shows my employment verification?
Can I take W2s and paystubs from work? Will that work?

Never heard this 'employment verification' anywhere before. What does that mean specifically?

thank you

- State/Govt ID

- Bring a black or blue pen

- Employment Verification

The person who signed I-864 employer should write a letter verifying the job title, income, dates of service of the sponsor.

Why do they need documents for affidavit of support when it's I-751.

It is a first for me. Lawyer up

I mean I was already going to take my tax returns and our joint bank statements to show bona fide marriage but why did they specifically asked for 'All supporting documents for Affidavit of Support (i.e. Bank Statements, most recent tax returns)'

It's weird.

P.S. It's combo interview for N400 and I-751.

Does anyone know what is employment verification?

Yes, it's a letter HR or your boss can give you. It should say your name, when you started working at the company, your job title, annual salary or hourly wages. Don't know if USCIS want it from you or your spouse. I'd get both just in case.

And why are they asking documents for affidavit of support?!

I got n400 interview letter but my i751 status is saying fingerprint was taken. How do I know it is a combo interview? What if I passed the n400 interview but i751 still pending. Will that affect anything?

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

You don't know. And nobody here knows. But with pending I-751 you always assume and hope it's a combo interview. Bring your spouse and evidence to the interview. Yes, this happens. You can pass N-400 but get welcomed with "decision cannot be made" because of pending I-751. You'd have to wait for I-751 to get approved before N-400 is approved. It can take hours, days, weeks or months. Each case is unique.

I don’t understand why they won’t do a combo interview? That is a shame that if I pass n400 and then I have to wait for i751 and don’t know how long it will be.

No one here is saying it won’t be.  Naturalization cannot be approved before conditions are removed, so sometimes there is a lag time.

I will take bank statements and IRS Transcripts as they asked.

Let us know how that goes, since we haven’t seen it before.
