Documents submitted to NVC via CEAC. Do we also need to email them?

Hello again!

This might seem like a silly question. But im gonna go ahead and ask anyway.

On Saturday we submitted all of our Civil Docs, AOS etc on the CEAC portal. Our current status says "Submitted"

Going back through a few things I noticed that if our case is processing electronically we must email the documents.

Even though everything is submitted on the portal, do we still need to email NVC? Or is this advice out of date? Seems stilly to email docs as well as uploading them for review.

Secondary question, I believe this has been covered but Id just like some clarification. The CEAC Status portal (https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx) still says that we are required to submit documents. Am I right in thinking that this status will remain until NVC completes our case?

Thanks everyone!

tagging @llcoolwil because we have the same concerns.

Once you submit everything in the portal you should be done. You don't have to do anything else but wait for DQ or RFE. Right now it's taking about 14-18 days. Also, don't click submit again because every time you submit new documents, it puts you at the back of the line.

As long as everything says PAID and SUBMITTED and COMPLETED, you are done.

Thanks for clarifying!

Also, did not know about the pressing submit again. I think we may have pressed it again the day we submitted but nothing happened.

I have done the same tbh 😅 but it did not worked...they had some maintenance issues as well so i dunno it could be the reason or maybe they have disabled it after you click it once so it doesn't puts you back at the que.

Wait time for DQ has been about 3 months after submittal.  Has NVC sped up their review process?

According to these sources it should take 2-3 weeks for review.
