DNA testing with the Nigerian consulate

Please is anyone else going through a delayed DNA testing process in Nigerian consulate? After being ordered to get a DNA test done with my mom since 2019, I paid for both my mom and I here in the USA and got my sample taken and the kit sent to Lagos consulate, I was informed that the coronavirus protocol was causing a delay. Until now (March 2023), the coronavirus protocols are no longer there and my mom has not been scheduled to have her sample taken. I keep reaching out and all I hear is that my mom will be contacted. Please can someone explain to me what is causing the delay or what else I needed to do. Is anyone else in this same shoe with me? If you are or have been, please what did you do to overcome it. Thanks for your responses.

I don't think you needed to take that route. The embassy, as far as I know, has labs they partner with here in US. All you need to do is contact any lab on embassy website, go do the test and have them send it to embassy.

For your mom in Nigeria, I think it is she same process. They have labs there that US embassy partners with.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

That's incorrect for Nigeria portion. If this was requested by USCIS or Embassy, Embassy will schedule the applicant when to come and get the test done - has to be supervised by an American employee. I'm sure they have a pile of test kits to go through after covid.

Edited to add - the kit was sent to the embassy with the applicant name.
