Financial Documents For Embassy Appointment CR1

Timeline

My wife has a greencard interview in at the US embassy in Turkey. We have a co-sponsor that hasnt done their 2022 taxes yet and wont do it until after our interview. Im the petitioner and I havent done 2022 taxes either. What financial documents should we bring to the interview ?

I think you mean visa interview, as green card interviews are only conducted inside the US.  As for 2022 tax documents, it depends on when the interview will be.  If before April 18, they will not be required.

Ah yes, its the visa interview. the interview is on April 11th 1 week before the tax deadline for taxes and none of us are going to get it done until then. Do we need a written explanation saying that or is it ok to just bring the 2021 tax documents that were uploaded to caec as proof of income already ? Or should i get the latest w2 statements for 2022 of my co-sponsor ?

I guess the better question is: why not do your taxes and not worry about it? Is it worth them putting your wife in administrative processing until you get them done? 
 

If I were you, I would do everything possible to PREVENT administrative processing and that includes doing my 2022 taxes and getting my sponsor’s 2022 taxes.

06/21/2022 - Status Update (Case is being actively reviewed by USCIS)

02/22/2023 - Approved 🎉 (notice came from NBC Service Center) 

Total: 375 days

03/01/2023 Welcome Email

03/01/2023 Paid Fees

03/03/2023 Submitted NVC paperwork

03/18/2023 Documentarily Qualified 🎉

04/04/2023 Received Interview Letter

Total: 34 days

 

Embassy - Sofia, Bulgaria

04/27/2023 - Medical

05/09/2023 - Interview (Approved)

 

USA

05/12/2023 - Arrived in the US

06/30/2023 - Received Green Card in the mail

Technically, until “tax day”, the most recent tax year  remains  2021.  But there is nothing stopping the IO from requesting them on the day .. especially if they consider the documentation provided       “ borderline”.
