At first my fiance wasn't sure he's ready to move to USA so he asked me to give him some time to think about everything and see what is more important to him......things that keep him in his country or his possibly future wife. Asking for 3 months only after 1 mnth he told me that he can't imagine his life without me and that i outweighted absolutely everything and it doesn't matter where we live as long as we're together. Actually for some reason he preferred to move to Canada rather than USA, no idea why.

So he never had any intentions of moving to USA until i came into his life. He had a pretty good and decent life in Israel.

I am very happy what you are telling me here. :)

oh and we're both russians so we have the same culture and the same language and no barrier so maybe it's easier for us than for some others :)

 I couldn't resist! :D

 That is great.

To the OP, not every relationship that falls through happens because of fraud. Sometimes things really don't work out.

On the other hand, even if an American woman does fall prey to a conartist, I don't think anything is wrong with HER. Just because someone has the ability to love and fails to see that they are being used doesn't make them stupid or gullible. People make mistakes, that's life. Everyone here who is marrying someone from outside of the US is taking a risk of being used. Some people are just bigger risk takers than others.

OP- remember though, unless both partners are prolific posters on VJ, you only hear one side of the story.

Ever wonder why every breakup on VJ has the VJ poster as the victim? Either we're all angels on this site or...

Ok now I will wonder about this. Didn't think this way before. Thank you for twisting my thoughts. :)

In my opinion, fast moving, shotgun relationships are the ones that fail most frequently. e.g. Not being patient enough to fully understand compatibility.

Conversely, some long term relationships fail because they fail. This is life.

What if the statistics revealed a strong correlation between certain parts of the world and divorce rates or detected fraudulent marriages?

I'm not saying I'm aware of any such data, but if such data were available and if a strong correlation was observed, would you change your mind?

If we were to look at statistics, maybe it is the American SO, look at our divorce rate, we have no staying power, rather than tough it out we, give up and move on, our country has become so disposable, even our marriages are?????
