Enter your ZIP code and voila :)

Your main problem may be to get an appointment before Saturday, not finding a civil surgeon.

If you're a K-1, like the guides (and the I-485 form) says, you only need the I-693A vaccination supplement... they shouldn't have to have you do any other tests or shots or whatnot. Incidentally I had my doctor's appointment today in Media, PA, it took about 10 minutes total and cost

$50.

One other thing the instructions with I-485 say "You MAY include the supplement"

So if you cannot get that taken care of before the deadline, just don't send it with the package, you MAY get an RFE, or you may be asked to bring it to the AOS interview.

Great question, devilette.

Because it says you MAY, not you MUST. Many people here have only sent the worksheet, which has been accepted, or which has generated an RFE. If this person doesn't send in the AOS packet by Friday, they will have to pay the increase in fees.

Good recommendation, YuAndDan.

This has been brought up and suggested many times.

Form I-485 Instructions (Rev. 07/30/07)N Page 4

8. Fiancé(e)s.

If you are a K-1 fiancé(e) or K-2 dependent who had a medical examination within the past year as required for the non immigrant fiancé(e) visa, you only need to submit a vaccination supplement, not the entire medical report. You may include the vaccination supplement with your adjustment of status application.

http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-485instr.pdf

Just quoting the instructions, and my interpretation of the word "MAY" is that it may or may not be included in the petition.

Case in point: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...t&p=1038318

If they miss the deadline because they run into a problem with a civil surgeon the WILL end up paying $1010, I think an RFE is worth it.

From http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-485instr.pdf:

You may include the vaccination supplement with your adjustment of status application.

Attach a copy of the fiancé(e) petition approval notice, a copy of your marriage certificate and your Form 1-94.

-----

I took 'may include' to mean 'include with this application' as I'm sure USCIS does. I see your point but I think the previous underlined part changes the meaning in the next sentence. The key words are in bold, as well. They clearly state it is required.

Your call, I'd rather submit a (much cheaper) I-693A then receive a possible full medical ($$$) RFE, as many have recently gotten.

Luckily I found a CS from the list that will supposedly just fill the form out for us at no charge if we have the paperwork, and he is only like 10 mins from my house. Wahoo!!!!

On one of the phone calls for the doctors i called, the lady from the doc's office was saying that an HIV test is part of the required package, does that sound right, I think she was just trying to pad the package as she also said that the doc would not consider any previous exams?

Dang, I dont remember ever seeing an NOA2, rut row :crying:

Calling her at home to have her look thru the paperwork I have.

I seem to recall Yodrak weighing in on this same thing a few weeks ago.

I have seen the same recommendation, by the way. Given by an experienced and notable US immigration attorney. Not on VJ.

Your opinion. RFEs slow things down.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...ical+supplement - many stories here

post #13:

I got my RFE a couple of weeks back for the same thing - missing medical forms ( couldn't of got into the USA on my K1 visa if I never had them ) Anyways.

I did the info-pass app - NO HELP. I did the congressman thing - NO HELP

So I made an appointment with the Civil Surgeon for a NEW MEDICAL. Paid the $236-00, he took most of my copies of the forms that I had brought from South Africa, but did the HIV and syphillis tests again as I didn't have copies of those results.

I go back to him on the 17th to pick up my paperwork and pay $76-00 to recieve them from him.

I wish you luck with trying other avenues, before having to pay all over again for the medical. But mine didn't work out, and I just got fed up, and did the medical. I just wanted it to be over with and had to suck it up, so I just paid for their mistake.

Good luck to you, hope your results are better than mine were.

Keep us posted

Better start digging for that form, a replacement one costs $200 (I-824) and of course the fee goes up July 30

Nancy should have already had the HIV blood test as part of her K1 medical (did she have it in Canada or HK?). It's only "required" if someone is doing a full medical with the civil surgeon, not just a vaccination supplement.

She'll need to bring her passport with her to the civil surgeon as they will put her passport number on the vaccination supplement. If she has any other proof of vaccinations, she should bring those too as some civil surgeons want to see those and will disregard the DS vaccination worksheet from the foreign medical.

Lastly, bring the instructions for the I-485 where it clearly states that K1s do not need a full medical if their medical was done in the past year.
