When did you get your original Green Card? Sometime in 2011?? This is critical info to know, check the start date on your green card, if it is dated before your second anniversary of your marriage then you got your 10 green card in error. It would be unusual for someone to get a 10-year green card when entering the US on a K1 visa and adjusting status, but it can happen in slow AOS cases.

 

Since your green card expires in July, that implies you are good to go on naturalization, if you got married in 2010 or even early 2011 (before July 2011) your green card was issued July of 2013 then you do not need to remove conditions on your LPR.

I am a resident since 03/2011. My GC expires in 07/2023 (I misread the card the first time around). I am close to a year at the transformation center - still in probation, but had completed court mandated DUI education and made arrangements for penalties owed. When filing for I-90 renewal, when is a good time to add letters from my community and church? 

 

I am not employed but I am an active member at the church I go to.

You can renew the I-90 now, inasmuch as it can be filed 180 days BEFORE expiration…( not 90 days)

Look carefully at the form and instructions, there are NO questions related to arrests/convictions.
 

All you need to submit is copy of green card, front and back. 

***No character ref letters or any conviction related documentation is required at this stage, so DO NOT submit’’’ 

Once you finish probation, then gather all community support letter, treatment completion certificate AND apply for N-400. Do it on your own or get a different attorney, cause I don’t see why he advised against doing N-400 as soon as ink was dry on the wet and reckless, since you said no probation on that one.

Good Morning,

 

Thank you so much for your feedback. Someone said 5 years of GMC is reviewed. Since my wet reckless case was processed in April 2018. Would it benefit me to file an I90 form on May 2013? Does it matter? Renewing my GC, here not applying for naturalization.

There is no good moral character for green card renewal ( I-90) thus no advantage to delaying renewal

I am filling out the I90 form online, and I am confused by some of the questions:

 

1.Where did you apply for your immigrant visa or adjustment of status?

Provide the location of the U.S. Embassy, U.S. Consulate, or USCIS office where you applied for your immigrant visa or submitted your application for permanent resident status.

- What immigrant visa? I came on a K1 visa on 10/2010 from Peru. I've been a resident since 03/2011. 

 

2. Where was your immigrant visa or adjustment of status granted?

Provide the location of the U.S. Embassy, U.S. Consulate, or USCIS office that issued your immigrant visa or permanent resident status.

- I can't remember which center I filed to. My POE in 2010 was Miami International Airport, headed to Austin, Texas.

 

3. Did you enter the United States with an immigrant visa?

Immigrant visas are processed and issued by the U.S. Consulate in a foreign country. If you received your Green Card by applying for permanent resident status after you entered the United States, then you did not enter with an immigrant visa.

- I selected NO. Correct me if I am wrong.

 

4. What is your race?

Select all that apply. Your race is different from your ethnicity and should reflect your geographical origins. White, Asian, Black or African American American Indian or Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander.

- This question slowly kills me. I am Peruvian, and for ethnicity (previous question) I selected Latino. Can I leave this question or any of these questions in blank?

1. It asks "or submitted your application for permanent resident status"

2. Similar to question 1. If you don't remember details, file FOIA, it's free. It will give you everything USCIS has on you including prior applications.

3. Correct answer is No, since you did AOS.

4. It sucks but best to answer it.

1. Just put the city you were living in when you were granted adjustment of status in 2011 ( they have a record of what service center processed it) but perfectly acceptable to also put UNK , unknown, for anything not clear to or don’t remember 

2. Again put the city you were living in when you adjusted 

3. No is ok

4. You are considered White for race and are free to select Latin for ethnicity. Do you have an issue with the classification? If not then move past it.

I came running to the computer when I saw the recommendation to file a FOIA.

1. I found my old VisaJourney timeline and account access. It looks like I filed to Vermont Service Center. Skimming through our older posts is emotional to me, but life goes on and God's promises are good. So, should I put Vermont Service Center for Q1? Would I still need FOIA?
