n-600 for minor: Not even biometrics app. after 14 months waiting [merged threads x4]

I filed two n--600 petitions 12 months ago for both of my children. I have yet to hear anything back other than a receipt notice. 

Is there anyway I can find out which field center is behind the IOE case number'? I am wondering why it takes so long.

Should be San Diego I expect.  Processing times are around 12 months for the N600, so it looks like they should be processed soon.

I just called USCIS as 13 months have passed and still do not even have a biometrics appointment. Now,  perhaps they use the data on file for biometrics but everything has been super silent since receiving the receipt/acceptance letter.

 

Still no news but the nice agent on the phone mentioned we are associated with the Washington DC field center.

I am getting a little anxious. I filed two n-600 applications for my children in January 2022. Our field office seems to be Washington DC. My children received their citizenship through INA 320 § 1431 (a) and (c) while under my husbands orders overseas. 

 

I am wondering why we haven't even gotten a biometrics appointment? It doesn't seem to move along at all despite the official processing times stating that 80% of the n-600's are processed within 14 months. Shouldn't we be, at least, getting a biometrics appointment? So far, all we have is a receipt notification but not an acceptance letter.

 

We are still overseas, albeit no longer under military orders. After some up and downs we are planning to move to the US sometimes later this year.

If your husband is American, wouldn't you have just filed a CRBA?

No, my husband petitioned their Greencard and they received their US citizenship upon entering the US as I am a US citizen.

 

But they are not his biological children - a CNBA wouldn’t be the right avenue to proceed.

 

Although this isn’t relevant to my initial question, my husband petitioned them as we were able to file through the consulate here (DCF) rather than USCIS stateside, if I had petitioned them.

Biometrics are not required for a N600 I think they only do those if they suspect fraud.  "

USCIS may require that you appear for an interview or provide fingerprints, photograph, and/or signature at any time to verify your identity, obtain additional information". Also if they require it you will have to pay an additional fee.

It is still a long wait for you all. For my area it is only an average of 4 months.

I am surprised about the wait. It has been over 15 months now without an appointment for biometrics or an interview invite.

 

Our USCIS office is Washington DC, by the way. Would it be possible they mailed a physical letter but we never received it? However, if so, wouldn't we see the electronic version uploaded on my children's USCIS account?

 

I wish the USCIS anxiety would get any better at some point but really, it doesn't.

Actually it is almost 16 months now while the average processing time should be around 12 months in Washington DC. So it went down from 14 months to 12 months but we have yet to hear anything at all.

Sine you are outside the normal processing times I would call them again.

You know it funny when you look at processing times for the N600 it ranges from 3.5 months in one city to 3 years in another city. That is a crazy difference in time. How fast you get your proof of citizenship should't depend on what city you live in.  At the bare minimum it shouldn't be a 2 1/2 year difference.
