Passport expiration requirement for NIW applications

With an approved NIW application, I am submitting DS-260 form and preparing my civil documents for an immigrant visa to the USA. As one of civil documents, my passport expires in more than seven months. Would it be acceptable if I use my current passport as the civil document considering that:

- I intend to enter the USA in September 2023 or later

- I can certainly renew my passport before the visa interview

Yes, it's ok to use your current (unexpired) passport, then renew it after submitting the DS-260.  Just bring both old and new passports to the interview.

I submitted my DS-260 form. However, there is no option on CECA to upload the civil documents. What should I do? Thanks!

EB cases may need to mail the physical documents to NVC.  Contact NVC for instructions -- https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html
