Hello Everyone!

I am green card holder that filed for My children in Lagos and they just got their interview scheduled at the Lagos Embassy for next month. D'q date from NVC was March 2020. My daughter had a son October 2021 and she is currently pregnant (due date is few weeks before the interview). And we didn't add the son to the case because we didn't want her d'q date to change. We have emailed the embassy to add the son as an accompany to the case and was told our case has been escalated and should wait for their email. And then we got an email from US Travel Docs with username and password information and not sure if that is where we add the new accompany or not. We then called the embassy for clarification and was told our case has been escalated and we are not sure what that means.

Has anyone gone through this process and can share their experience adding an accompany after receiving interview letter.

Thank you.

There are no derivatives allowed for immediate relatives.   She will have to come first, and petition her children.

OP's VJ profile seems to be mislabeled as IR2, but from their post, the case is F2A, not "immediate relative" category.  F2A are allowed to have derivatives, including children (ie. grandchild of LPR petitioner).

Ah, I was going by their profile, which lists IR-2, a visa that does not allow for derivatives.

Escalate mean Updated with the new information you provided.

Incorect.  Escalate means that this is a question/situation that the contract employees at the information Center cannot answer.  They have, therefore, "escalated" (moved up) the question to someone at the Embassy who can answer.

I know it's too late in this thread to really be needed, but wanted to correct this for anyone reading this in the future who then assumes their information has been updated when it may not have been.

The interview went well and we were able to add the child on the day of the interview. However, we could not get visa for the child because we didn't have his medicals ready. So, we were told to go and do his medicals and then schedule an appointment on ustraveldocs website. Right now, we are just checking the website daily for interview dates to open up.

If you are in the similar situation, a lot of things could have been done differently because we realized a lot after the fact. When you inform them you have a Child you want to add, they will create an account for you on ustraveldocs where you should go and update your profile. Make sure you add your child under dependent and he or she will be linked to your case number and then you will be able to do his medicals prior to the interview date. That was the major step we missed that didn't allow us to do his medicals prior to the interview because he wasn't linked to the case number.

You will not get visa for him if you don't have his medicals prior to the interview date. Once you do that, you will be able to make the IV fee payment at the embassy on the day of the interview.

Let me know if you have any other question or need any clarification.

Wishing you all the best!
