Hi everyone,

My mother in law renewed her green card, got it on friday after 2 years, but USCIS spelled her surname wrong, what should we do now?  I know that it is not our fault because we gave them the right surname but they spelled it wrong. will we have to pay again? and how many days it will take to get the new one? I did not find any information on their website, they ask us to pay again. please someone who can guide us.

Thank you.

File I-90 online.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Did you mean 2 years or more?

I90 processing time is approximately 19 months for a replacement, but I would expect 2 plus years since that time only applies to 80% of cases.

Might be surprised if it's just for a name update.  I was surprised with Kid2's coming much faster when their status was wrong (CR vs IR).

It's USCIS though...don't expect any miracles.  File the I-90, request and ADIT stamp if her temporary I-551 is expiring soon and you have travel planned and hurry up and wait.

File I-90 for free to replace the GC due to USCIS data error.
