Thank you for all for all your help. We do plan on having a wedding celebration in Morocco in the near future. But my US gf was advised by her lawyer that the fastest way for me to get to the US was through the K-1 Visa 😕

It is no faster.

Any type of ceremony you have will make you ineligible for the K-1.   Don’t do it.

Also-  why are you using such a misinformed and incompetent lawyer?

So if my gf comes to Morocco, we get married here. You are telling me there is a faster way for me to go to the US?

I'm not sure why this lawyer told her that the fastest way to get to NC was through the K-1.

We did mention that we wanted to marry in Morocco, but this lawyer said it was going to take 2-3 years for me to get to the US. So that's why we went with the K-1 visa to marry legally in the US. She said it would be a faster process. 🙄

It definitely will take you 2-3 years to get to the US.   Both K-1 and CR-1 take at least two years.   Your lawyer must be referring to processing times from several years ago.

to really help u the USC should join the conversation here

and not to sound like a real bragger as i did not start this group but this site has more members who have gone thru the immigration process than any one lawyer  has had immigration clients and as we have seen many times ,  law offices have made errors on petitions that hurt a case and the USC is responsible for all the info on the petition and documents submitted

there are good lawyers but this one is not one of them

This is very good advice.  The USC is the one to file the petition, whether for K-1 or CR-1, and needs to know the process and ask the questions.

I'm applying for a K-1 visa to the US, and my fiance's lawyer is asking for letter of intent to marry signed and notarized.

Does anyone know where I can get this document notarized at?

Thanks.

Intent to marry letters need to be signed but does not need to be notarized.

Perhaps your fiance should consult another lawyer.

Also, as @JeanneAdil can confirm, K1 fiance visas are difficult to get for Morocco.  You will need to meet a high bar of relationship evidence and front load the petition.

Please research the K1 visa and CR1 visa for Morocco thoroughly.

My fiancé and are applying for the K-1 visa, She is US citizen (petitioner) and live in Kenitra, Moroccan citizen (beneficiary). We are now finishing up the packet for her to submit to her lawyer.

The only thing she needs from me is the INTENT TO MARRY WITH 90 DAYS UPON US ENTRY, and both of my friends affidavit letters attesting to our bona fide relationship.

I have them translated already, what I'm having trouble with is that her lawyer needs these documents NOTARIZED.

I have no clue where to go get these letters notarized or who to ask for help about this subject.

Does anybody know where I can get these services done at in Kenitra or surrounding areas?

I'm new to this whole process and I need to get these documents notarized ASAP.

The above thread (country-specific) has been moved from the K-1 Process forum to the Middle East/North Africa regional forum.

Amine Matioui, please do not start new threads on this topic; use this thread. :)

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

If u insist on  the K1 write the letter in arabic and go to translator and translator will witness it / its the best u can do in Moroc

Kentra is in the North so expect a long long AP after the interview  since the 2011 bombing in Casa and the more recent bombing in Maracheck plus the killings of 2 EU girls hiking in the mts ,  North Moroc is probalbility of terrorist activity.  A Fes woman married to USC was 10 months in AP after her interview for the additional security checks.   this will not be fast

Don't bother with both of my friends affidavit letters attesting to our bona fide relationship.  as it carries no real evidence to USCIS /  they don't want or need this

The very best to u as u will need good luck
