Hey guys pls I just want to know . It’s been over a year since I and my fiancé got engaged and filed for a k1. We are expecting an approval from uscis soon and my fiancé and I haven’t met since we got engaged . I don’t know if it’s a big deal that we didn’t meet after the engagement as at the time of the interview ?

For Nigeria, it could be a problem.  Nigerian cases receive a lot of scrutiny.  How much time have you actually been face to face?  I agree with @Dashinka.

How long each time .. when.. where ? Fiance home country ?  Its a big picture question. Other factors cone into it too Are you both Nigerian? What are your ages. If you can help with some details that would be good. Bottom line .. if you can meet up again before the interview that will  greatly strengthen your application

Less red flags .. thats helpful. Its still an unknown unfortunately .. any possibility of meeting up? .. even if its just for a week .. or coincides with the interview date when you get it ? The longer you have to wait for the interview the more important meeting again will be

I spoke to him about meeting up but he’s unsure , I’ll try and convince him and make him realize how important it is for us to meet and increase our chance of approval

What month and year was your last meeting?  It's one thing to meet and then file a week later for K1 versus Meeting 1.5 years prior to filing the K1. The officer will most likely ask your fiance why the two of you haven't met since filing the K1.  Also, how often do you talk to each other on the phone or FaceTime?

We met last March 2022 and we talk on Whatsapp video call and voice call everyday

Ok, I think you'll be fine.  Your timeline says you filed in February 2022 so if you met in March 2022, then you did meet after you filed.

My fiancé and I last met in February 2020, which is when we got engaged. The plan was to go back a few months later and get the K1 process started together but the coronavirus kicked in just about that time. "2 weeks to slow the spread" turned into an eternity waiting for me to be able to go see her in person, so I decided to just get things going without going back to the Philippines. Long story to say at the time of our approval we hadn't been together in person for nearly 3 years. We went heavy on Whatsapp call/messaging logs, receipts for remittances and holiday/birthday cards as evidence of an ongoing relationship. Unless you have some other red flags, I think you'll be fine.

You might be right, but Nigeria and PI do not receive equal scrutiny.

ask the USC to come to be an emotional support for interview

CO usually asks when u last were together and if the bene could say "he's here now"  that would be good

if USC and bene can be together again before interview ,  its always good
