Hi Everyone,

I couldn't wait any longer and finally decided to mail our I-129F without the paper NOA1, I was hoping to have it in the mail upon returning from vacation but no luck. In an effort to find out what was taking so long I called the CSC and the phone representative told me that all they are looking for (regarding the I-129F proof of reciept) is that you have the I-130 reciept number.

By the way, I also read an interesting USCSIS Update that said you could mail the I-129F directly to your local service center (CSC for me) so that is what I did.

I mailed it on Thurday USPS.

USCIS Update

p.s. I have not been on the forum for a couple of weeks so if all of this is old news forgive me. ;-)

I read the istructions and it said that only after July 30 you could direct file. I would be afraid that it would slow the process instead of speeding it up.

Read the second to last paragraph on page two, the one in bold. I don't have it in front of me but it specifically states they will recieve prior to July 30th. I sent a copy of the USCIS Update with my filing in case the person who opens it is not aware of the update. It is my understanding from what the CSC guy told me they will all end up at the service center even if you mail them to Chicago. (Implying they have already started to process the same as if the will after July 30th.)

If I mail to the lockbox in Chicago it will need to come all the way back to California anyway, hopefully mailing direct avoids a couple of weeks. (A week in the mail there, time to sort, and a week in the mail back.)

I based my decision mostly on the advice of the CSC representative but let's face it, with all the changes going on at the moment, how can we do anything without feeling like it is a ####### shoot.

I mailed my directly to California as well and my lawyer printed out the USCIS directive to do so. I am now VERY VERY HAPPY I filed the K3. The I130 time lines have SKYROCKETED ahead on this site if you look at them and for the first time, my 129f file is BEHIND the I130. My lawyer told me that the I130s would start really lagging as the 30th of July got closer and that approvals would slow down and lag due to the sheer number of people filing. I would hope in some bizarre way that this influx would speed things up for me because maybe there will be fewer K3 filers because of the extra adjust ment of status costs. I am just waiting on one of the files to be approved because then I have to give my lawyer another 500 dollars to represent me in the consulate phase. He made a major mistake on my I130 file ( wrong spousal birthdate) but he has done a pretty bang up job putting my files together. I never realised how huge these files look when you put all the papers together and evidence. I am really happy he sent out this I129F because they seem to move much faster than the I130 and hopefully when it gets to the consulate phase, it will really fly along.. I think IU will see an approval on it in October is my guess but judging by this timelines, I am getting very depressed. I TOTALLY cannot afforid to go see my husband next month but we need to do everything to keep us together and I need to see him and just sit with him and be with him. We have been apart a really really long time,,, religiously married in December, legally married In may.. and now I will see him in august and then it will not be till december that i see him again and then it will be after his interview that I see him again... and then hopefully I can hold on to my job and finances till then ( scary scary with all the stress I seem to be going through with all of this) I have a commision job and its really hard trust me.
