My mother is my joint sponsor and since she is filing taxes together with my dad, i read in our forums that the joint sponsor should obviously complete i 864 & since she is filing joint taxes with my dad, dad should count as a household member and he should fill i 864 a. Now my question is, in the i864a document, there is a question asking " the relationship of household member to the sponsor". In this, are they referring to me the primary sponsor or my mother the joint sponsor?

The I864a is tied to the joint sponsor  864. So its their spouse relationship

Perfect thank you..one more question - in the i864 which I file , ( I have no income currently) , what should I put as household size ? Just me and the my immigrating spouse ? So it will be 2 in total ? Or should I add joint sponsor ( mom) , and household member ( dad) and 2 of my brothers who are dependants , making the total to 6 ?

You and your husband.  2. … assuming you have no dependents. That is you do not claim  anyone as a dependent on your taxes .

Got it sir..thank you so much..one last question..in the i864 which my mother files as joint sponsor , her house hold size would be myself , my immigrating spouse , my mom herself ,my dad , and 2 brothers whom she shows as dependants , so in my mom's I 864 the household size would be 6 right ?

No.  She is not sponsoring you.  Her household would be herself, her spouse, her 2 dependent children, and the immigrant she is sponsoring....5.
