Case Last Updated Status After Interview [merged threads]

Hello,

I had a question, my father has been in admin processing for some time now like 3 months since his interview, his case would be updated every now and then on Ceac website but in past week, it seems his case has been updated 3 times now, is this a sign they can be getting close to asking for his passport to issue Visa?

It still says Refused but that is the new term for Admin Processing.

Just wanted to see what community thinks and has seen. Thanks.

From what I've seen around the forum there is no pattern. Many updates are just glitches and do not mean someone is reviewing the case.

Unfortunately AP is a very uncertain status where some have been stuck for years. Hope that is not your father's case.

can senators office assist with why AP is taking long?

My mother received her visa already about a month after interview, they emailed requesting her passport. But father is still in AP.  they were planning to come here together.

I'm truly sorry got father is still waiting.

It won't hurt if you contact your congressperson.

Varies a lot by Consulate. you can always sue.

A Lawyer would normally look at the totality of the case.

Never seen a Senator do anything

Government Officials do, I was just giving you your options, I know very little about your case.

Well how long in AP would it be in before one would take this route?

also you think senators office can do anything?

the way my Senator explained it to me is "Congress has no control over USCIS /it comes under Department of Homeland Security and is paid for by our fees.

Senator can write a letter at their discretion but have no power

Congress is responsible for immigration laws

Hacking law (one of the best) says

https://thevisafirm.com/dc-immigration-lawyer/us-government-agencies-involved/#:~:text=The%20US%20Department%20of%20State%20has%20the%20primary%20responsibility%20of,a%20visa%20is%20typically%20required.

USCIS oversees the process of lawful  entry into the United States. Family members and employers who are sponsoring foreign nationals for immigration will submit applications and documentation to USCIS.  Individuals who are immigrating will also be dealing with USCIS officials. For example, it is USCIS who conducts a naturalization interview, who administers English and civics tests to would-be citizens, and who conducts green card interviews.

Hello All,

Parents had interview last last year, additional documents were requested and we sent them, shortly thereafter, we got email for my mom to send her passport only. Shortly then she was issued, but father was called for 2nd interview asking him about his job, as he worked in government in his original country.

He still seems to be in AP and it has been about 4 months now.

We had senator email embassy and they said it is processing now and can take a few months.

How many months is the average time in most consulates for AP? I wanted my mom and dad to come together but it looks like my mom will have to come alone as her visa expires in a few months.
