Hi all,

My husband (Colombian) and I (German green card holder) submitted our initial I-130 in January of 2022 and now received RFEs (his is for the medical exam, mine to establish a bona fide spousal relationship). I received my own green card through my job, so this part is not familiar to me. My main question is if affidavits from people who know us are necessary? We are able to include a lease with both our names (the lease has expired but we live at the same address month-to-month and can prove this), a joint car loan, joint car insurance, joint tax return, joint bank account, he is on my health insurance and the beneficiary on my life insurance. We have pictures with friends and tickets for a trip this summer. Do we need to include texts (those would be exchanges like "please buy bread" or "home soon" since we  have lived together this whole time)? Most importantly, should we include letters from friends confirming that we are married? We could get them, but the people we would ask are either super busy right now or are traveling, so I am hesitant to ask.

Also, the RFE say that we should send everything together, but we were wondering if we can mail in the medical letter (his RFE) and upload the bona fide materials (my RFE)?

Thank you so much, lovely people!

Affidavits are a complete last resort.  With the information you mentioned, I would not bother.  I also would not worry about texts or chats since you are currently living together.

If both requests are part of the same RFE, I would submit everything together.

Good Luck!
