Hello

I am caught in the middle of a frustrating issue. I drove from canada to Georgia last September to work as a nurse. I am trying to switch my license plate to Georgia plate and have been told by customs I need a letter of manufacturer from Toyota Canada. I have called them and they state they no longer issue this letter. Can anyone provide direction as to what my next option is? I am so unhappy with Toyota Canada right now - one agent told me Canada does not make their cars to be imported to other countries !! That is an inappropriate response

I have had a similar issue trying to get a letter Chrysler.  Call Toyota US instead and tell them you are exporting a car from Canada to the US as you are moving and need a compliance letter.  Explain to them you are unable to get this from Toyota Canada.  I suspect you might have more luck.

Is your car finally successfully imported to the United States? Did Toyota finally give you a compliance letter? Or via RI? how much did you spend? Please share with your successful experience to us. I just got my green card and I am eager to import Lexus cars to the United States. Used cars in the United States are so expensive now.
