Filing I130 for my Mom but couldn't find her I-94 from her 2015 trip to the US as a Traveler

Hello all,

I'm a US citizen (just naturalized a few weeks ago) and filing form I130 to petition my Mom. My Mom visited me in 2015 under a non-immigrant visitor visa. In form I-130, there is a section requiring me to put in her I-94 number from this 2015 trip. I went to CBP website and put her information in but the website says "No Record". Anyone has experience with this before? I have 2 questions regarding this:

1. Should I submit my Mom's I-130 form without the I-94 number in the application?

2. If not, where else can I go to get help with her I-94 record?

Please help!

Thank you!

1. Yes

2  Apart from an FOI.. nowhere that i know .. FOI not warranted here.  If you can use the additional info section of the I130 to explain its not available .. do so.. but don't worry over it

freedom of information

I  usually say / read / use FOIA: freedom of information act

A foia inquiry to CBP would reveal the I-94, possibly.

Then I agree. I-94 not needed.

Some say potato, some say 🥔 ..England and Australia say FOI 😎

The Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) gives you a right to access information held by us, the Department and other Commonwealth agencies. You can request documents we hold and we will assess your request against the provisions of the FOI Act.

Darn :( it's a hefty price to just locate a record that should have been publicly available. I will keep this in mind if the USCIS forces me to go through this. Thank you for bringing this up! This will at least prepare me mentally when or if we need to file this!

This was for a 1994 record. I'm not sure when they went electronic. You might be able to get the info from Freedom of information as this is fairly recent entry. Back in the 90s everything was paper and her freedom of information request came up blank. See if you can search the I94 website, file for freedom of information (its free) and as a last resort do an I-102
