Contacting the US embassy in London via Phone

Whenever i try to contact the embassy from within the U.K im told that my phone in not allowed to make this call. i tried two numbers listed on this website. How on earth do you contact them by Phone? does anyone have a number that will work?

From the USA call DOS at 202.663.1225 Then press 1, then press 5, then press 0.

They can handle most anything from this side.

Should not be a problem, that line is fairly quick so hold times are short. I would call using a inexpensive long distance service.

Many consulates automatically extend the approval date if the interview could not be scheduled within the 4 months of the approved I-129F

That's true - IF the beneficiary actually filled out the forms and sent them back to the consulate.

In other words, if the visa were still being pursued.

Yes -- certain networks do not support premium rate numbers, and if you have call barring turned on it will also stop you from calling. BT lines work the best, as long as there is no call barring. You could try another network, call from a friend's/family member's house or even use a phone box (bring LOTS of pound coins -- it's £1.20/min!).
