Recently my husband's birth certificate was rejected. I realize the scan looked more like a copy than an original. I don't know if that's the only issue or if they want the "long" version instead. We submitted the "short version." Can someone who has had their documents accepted by NVC please weigh in, did you submit the long or short version and what was the result??

You need to make sure that you are submitting the ACTA INEXTENSA version. That is the only one they will accept.

"The Immigrant Visa Section at the U.S. Embassy would like to remind all of our visa applicants to bring their Birth Certificate Inextensa with them for their interview.  All applicants, including applicants that will travel on the same petition in the future, must present their Birth Certificates Inextensa.  Do not bring the extract of your Birth Certificate to the interview.  Failure to bring your Birth Certificate Inextensa will result in delays in your visa processing." Does anyone know if the birth certificates have to be translated as well? Can we translate the birth certificates ourselves or does it have to be certified?
