We got through to USCIS today and they shipped it on the 25th May to NVC but its not showing as received in the NVC system. Is this generally what happens, I've read somewhere on here about 3 weeks before NVC receive, has anyone else had this?

and then is it more weeks once they receive to then get a case number too?

How did you get through today?

by calling the number and saying infopass, last time I then asked for a live agent and did get through.

I called, said InfoPass, then it asked me "Why do you need an infopass appointment?". No matter what I said after that, it wouldn't transfer me to a live agent.

Did you say "live agent" or something?

I'm sorry I didn't get this question so I'm not sure how to get past that. This time just said infopass and got through. You could try again and hopefully you'll get through too

Thanks. I got the same response. InfoPass is asking why I need an InfoPass appointment. No matter what I say, it responds with "I'm sorry, but that is not a valid reason for an InfoPass appointment."

It was working fine when I called last week. Now, not so much.

Anyone else running into this issue today?

Is there a trick to calling the number? (800-375-5283)? I said infopass, and it asked for my recepit number. After I gave it, it wouldn't go further.

No matter what I said, the recorded voice wouldn't transfer me to a human operator. I got through last week, but this week, it isn't working.

Edit-- guess I'm not the only one experiencing this today.

Wow, I can't believe it. We took to Emma again today to pester two separate agents since the first one was unwilling to disclose any information. The second agent however told us that our case was actually shipped out on May 22!

Which is wild because not only has the NVC never gotten back to us, but another USCIS agent told us they had not sent out our case just last week.

No matter. I'm happy and hoping for good news from the NVC soon.

How did you get that answer?  I would like to try it.

When logging into ceac it asks for an invoice number in addition to the nvc case number.  Where is this invoice number found?  Not seeing anything on the email I got from nvc with case number.  Won’t let me log in without it. Thanks

If you change it to an Immigrant Visa(IV) you will not need an invoice #. That’s how I check mine.

We have the same NOA2 date.  I am hoping that ours was also shipped, and like you, the person who told me Monday that it hadn't been shipped yet was incorrect.  That said, if it is true that yours was shipped on 5/22, it's already been 2 weeks since then and you don't have an NVC Received notice.  Is that typical?

It takes about 18-19 days for a case to be created, so that's normal. I'd say give it a week or so and you'll have a case number hopefully

When I found out my case had been sent back to USCIS I did a few things:

- Spoke to a tier 1 agent. They just told me it will take 180 days for the case to be looked at again.

- Joined a queue for a tier 2 agent. He said we don't have the details yet and I probably would have to wait 30 days. I think he kind of agreed with me when I said "from what I've seen if it's an USCIS filing error it's 30 days, if it's something serious it's 180 days." I confirmed with him that he was saying I should have an update in 30 days. Then he checked their official guidance I guess or something and repeated the 180 days line and basically wrapped up the call. I don't know how to interpret that call.

- Wrote an email to NVC. No response yet.

- Began the process of having my senator look into this case. We'll see if anything comes out of that.

Like I said, 180 days would be a deal breaker and we would just start the next phase of our life in Germany, so I'm hoping this gets resolved soon. The shitty part is that I guess at best we are in the dark until the end of the month?

But hey, the dark is a familiar place for all of us trapped in this process.

How did you reach a tier 2 agent?

Go to their website and strike up a conversation with their chatbot by clicking on 'Ask Emma' in the top right – type in live agent and select the option to connect to live chat (or something along those lines). Only works on weekdays and is best done in the morning. The individual helpfulness of each agent varies a lot, so we had to try a couple of times but it's worth it. Good luck!
