Finally some great news after 75 days! (NOA2 March 17, 2023).

I received my case number today from NVC and they are updating the Embassy Location per our request to Ankara, Turkey (my fiancee is Russian, but a Turkish Resident).

I'll keep everyone posted on the journey to getting it sent to Ankara and getting an appointment and interview.

I'm praying everyone gets their case number soon as well (hopefully by 90 days).

Awesome news! Congratulations!

how did you know when USCIS actually shipped your case ?? do the USCIS mail you when they ship the case to NVC ?

I called them and they told me when they shipped it. You can call them too - Call them at (800) 375-5283, when it asks what do you need help with, say "infopass" , this will get you to a live agent. Ask them to see if/when they shipped your petition to NVC

Called USCIS today.  Still hasn't been sent to NVC.  Day 78 now (NOA2 on 3/14).  They told me to call back if I don't get it by day 90.

There was a post here about a few months ago. They think that if your embassy has a backlog, Uscis will hold your petition until the embassy  catch up.
I don’t know if it’s true.

I don't think that's necessarily true – my embassy deals with like two K1s per year and very little immigration to the US in general, and USCIS is still withholding our case.

That said, it's now day 79 and the internal inquiry didn't lead to anything either. USCIS just sent us an email saying "we're experiencing transfer delays right now, thank you for your patience" ...

We got the same response from USCIS.. literally trying every avenue possible from senators to putting pressure on NVC to assist but still waiting here 😢... NOA2 March 10th as per actual NOA and March 13th as per USCIS website .

That theory was about the NVC holding petitions when it comes to sending them to the embassy, not when it comes to USCIS sending them to NVC. I don’t know if this is true because I’m not following much of the embassy phase since it’s specific info. Most people get to “ready” status pretty quickly. However, there are also theories about NVC being the one backlogged and not able to handle the volume of cases USCIS is processing.

Someone called USCIS and an agent told them that NVC is asking USCIS to hold petitions for at least 90 days before sending to them. It’s hard to trust the agent’s word too because it could just be USCIS shifting blame to NVC. We can’t know for sure. We honestly filed K1 in the worst period ever where processing times are at its higher mark for both I-129f and NVC.

February 2022 I-129F K1 Case Status Spreadsheet can be found here.
NVC Timelines spreadsheet can be found here.
NOA1:
Feb 22nd, 2022 | NOA2: May 12th, 2023 (444 days) | NVC Received: July 3rd, 2023 (52 days) | Case number: Aug 2nd, 2023 (82 days) | In Transit: Aug 15th, 2023 (95 days)  | Ready: Aug 17th, 2023 | Medical: Sep 22nd, 2023 | Interview: Sep 26th, 2023

Hey, at least we're making history, right ...

I'm half wishing for a class action lawsuit or something at this point. 18+ months just to get through the very first step of the K1 is just inhumane. Especially since it would never have gotten this bad if USCIS hadn't deprioritized i-129fs as much as they did.
