No special reason but will I get any in any trouble when I apply for N-400? Will they ask why I have not changed it to the unrestricted card yet? I have the SS card. What notice?

when a SS card comes in mail it is attached to a paper notice in case u ever need to replace it  but u have the card and u are asking how to replace it

Right but I wanted to make sure I could start the process online.

You can.

It's your time.  If you want to waste it by applying online and then going to the SSA office to basically do the same thing over again, then go ahead.

I thought it’s faster to fill it online first instead of filling it on paper later?

I had the ’NOT VALID FOR EMPLOYMENT’ SS card before and once I got my EAD I applied to get the ‘VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION ONLY’. So that is what I have now.

What is the purpose of online application? I have not pressed the apply button. I assume I may not have to use my pen?
