Approved I-130 and immigrant visa

Hi everyone! Maybe someone has been through this and can give me some insight on what to expect next. 
I filed an I-130 for my mother last year when she was in Italy. Since then she applied for a non immigrant visa (B2) and is currently in the US. Yesterday her petition got approved and her file was sent to the National Visa Center for immigrant visa processing. I tried contacting USCIS through Emma and they told me that I can just apply for adjustment of status from here and attach the approved I 130. I tried contacting the State Department to see if I need to somehow stop the process of them issuing an immigrant visa and sending all the info to the Consulate for an interview, but only did through their Inquiring system since they can’t be reached via phone anymore and didn’t get a response yet.

Your mother can file an I-485 package, I-765 package, and I-131 package as Emma said.

Registered Nurse- Retired- I practiced in the areas of Labor & Delivery, Home Health, Adolescent Psych, & Adult Psych.

IT Professional- Retired- Web Site Design, Hardware Maintenance, Compound Pharmacy Software Trainer, On-site go live support, Database Manager, App Designer.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Option A: She could just wait and return to her country to complete the consular process. 

Option B:  She can file the I-485, I-765, I-131 packages.

 

Option A:  She would be a legal resident immediately after arriving in the US via an IR-5 visa.

Option B:  She could not work or leave the US until after receiving a valid EAD/AP document.  She would not be a legal resident until the I-485 is approved... maybe a year from now.
