I had the same thing happen a year ago with our k-1. She had a PSA copy that was completely illegible and a clear copy from the local Municipality. We sent both copies together and didn"t have a problem.......

This is reassuring to know. Hopefully, if we aren't able to get a clear PSA copy, then I hope the clear copy from the local Municipality will work too.

If you still can, I suggest trying to get the PSA copy updated to the more legible version of the birth certificate because she will end up needing it even after the K1 process. Just get it all fixed once and for all. Birth certificates are one of the most basic and important documents for an individual.

I agree, the only issue is that we are running into problems getting the birth certificate cleared on the PSA copy.

From what everyone had told me here, I think following up with the local municipality to resend a clear copy to the PSA and go from there.

I didn’t include my birth certificate.. is this something that we need to include or does a naturalization certificate cover this requirement?

If you are talking about yourself as the US petitioner, then yes. You will need to submit a copy of your birth certificate or naturalization as part of I-129F application. This document is used to determine your are an eligible petitioner as US citizen.

The foreign fiancé you are petitioning also needs to submit a copy of her birth certificate. Specifically in my case, my Filipino fiancé needed to submit a copy of her birth certificate from the Phillipines Statistic Authority or PSA.

We submitted a birth certificate from her local municipality cause that version is clear along with her unclear copy from her PSA.

That’s so strange. Didn’t see that my beneficiary needed to include her birth certificate.
