My parents are scheduled for their IR5 interview in a few days! Anyone have thoughts on how early they should arrive at the embassy?

10 minutes is the answer :) according to https://www.ustraveldocs.com/np/np-niv-securityinfo.asp

Glad we found that page because it also says you can't take cell phones or apple watches and there's no place to store them (which I incorrectly had advised my parents they could do). When I was doing this many years ago I remember getting a token and they would keep your cell phones and bags etc during your appointment at the embassy. Bit of a hassle to get a ride back after the interview without a cell phone to coordinate but I guess it's better we found out now versus later.
