My fiancé and I are getting married online on March 3.  She is Russian and we are meeting in Turkey for the ceremony. I will receive the marriage certificate back in the US about two weeks later (around March 17) and I need to get it to her in Russia. Is anyone planning a trip to Russia in late March or early April and willing to take the document? Maybe someone you know is going? Please contact me, if you know someone. Thanks!

Aren’t you planning on meeting her again in person before she interview (which is close to 2 years from now)?

Can't you just do the UTAH zoom? Don't they send certified copies? That eliminates hustle of looking for someone

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

We are doing Utah zoom. We need the apostilled copy for my fiancé to change her name back in Russia.

We will meet multiple times between now and the interview, but we want to get her passport updated now. I do understand we have until the interview.

I think that to change her name in Russia they need an original, apostilled Marriage Certificate. We've communicated with others who went through this process recently, including @simplytex.

Thanks

Maybe:

I may be seeing my fiancée in early May, departing US for Spain on May 5th with her arriving back in Moscow on May 15th. If you're still looking for options by then, hit me up.

FWIW, many Russians never do that (my wife is Anastasiia [my last name] on all American documents since we filed for AOS, but changing her Russian documents when she doesn't live there is just too much hassle; she renewed her Russian passport recently when the embassy did a day in LA and it's still [her maiden name] Anastasiia there). Granted, she didn't change her name until after coming here because that was on a K-1 back in 2019.

Yeah, my wife Katya did the same thing.  She has traveled that way multiple times as an LPR, LPR with expired GC and extension letter and now as a USC with a Russian passport in her former name and a US passport in her married name with no issues.  Changing her name in her Russian passport might make it a little cleaner, but it is definitely not a requirement.
